Onnāb/Annāb is the fruit of shrub reaching a height of up to 10 meter with thorny branches. The ripe fruit is spherical to oval, red or deep brown with sweet taste and a single oval and sharp stone seed. The fruits ripen in summer to early autumn. In Iranian traditional medicine, it is used as blood purifier and respiratory soothing agent.
