Abstract
Introduction: Cough is one of the most common symptoms of respiratory tract infections in children that trouble children and families especially at night, prevent proper nutrition, rest and sleep. Many remedies are used to relieve cough in children who did not eliminate cough completely and have various side effects. Honey is a principal natural sugar with known health effects and a superior food. It has been used to treat many diseases also. Recent research has proved that honey due to low humidity, high osmotic pressure and acidity inhibits the growth of infectious agents including viruses, bacteria and parasites and also its effects on children's cough. In this study we collect the research’s findings support this idea.M.
Materials and Methods: In this paper by afflatus from the Qur’an verse “which (in honey) there is healing for people” and the like a jewel word of honorable Prophet (PBUH): " Healing does not acquired the patient such drink honey", therapeutic effects of honey in the treatment of cough in children were studied. This study is a review of the literature published in English and Persian on the Internet with the words honey, cough and children to access to all the content published on the use of honey in the treatment of cough in children.
Results : In this study, a review of the literature showed that honey in comparison with conventional cough medicines, such as dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, and placebo can be reduce nighttime coughing and improve sleep in children and parents, further.
Conclusion: Based on these results we can say that the Quran emphasizes the healing of honey is confirmed by medical science today and health benefits of honey for many illnesses, including coughs in children is more apparent by the day.

Abstract
Background and Purpose: Diarrhea is a well-recognized side effect associated with pelvic radiotherapy. The change in the intestinal bacterial flora and increased permeability of mucous cells may cause radiation-induced diarrhea. In this research the effects of honey with Nigella sativa mixture against radiation –induced diarrhea are evaluated. Honey is a putative nutritional with a variety of health effects, including antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and prebiotic. Seed of Nigella sativa commonly known as black seed which is used in folk medicine in the Middle East such as Iran for the promotion of good health and the treatment of a variety of ailments including Asthma, headaches, some infections, hypertension and gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea.
Materials and Methods: Forty-one adult patients with pelvic cancer were treated with pelvic radiotherapy for 5 weeks and randomized to receive honey with Nigella sativa mixture (30gr honey and 3gr Nigella sativa powdered in every day) (n = 17) or placebo capsules (n = 24). Diarrhea grade was recorded weekly according to the Common Toxicity Criteria system and scored the stool consistency grade using the Bristol scales.
Results: Consumption of honey with Nigella sativa mixture was found to have a significant effect in decreasing in daily number of bowel movements (P = 0.004) and diarrhea grade (in fourth and fifth week; p = 0.001and p = 0.002 respectively) and also increasing in the stool consistency (in fourth and fifth week; p = 0.005and p = 0.015 respectively) in the patient when compared to the controls. The antidiarrheal drug necessity was observed in patients in the honey with Nigella sativa mixture group significantly less than the placebo group (p = 0.028) during the treatment.
Conclusion: It seems that honey with Nigella sativa mixture can reduce the incidence of radiation-induced diarrhea and the need for anti-diarrheal medication.

Abstract
Background and Purpose: Oxymel (sekanjabin) one of the important forms of traditional medicine, is compound of honey and vinegar as basic materials. In the preparation of various types of oxymel, other additives are used. Oxymels have many applications in keeping the human health and also the treatment of diseases. Because of emphasis on this product in Persian Medicine (PM) and so many various kinds of it, paying attention to oxymel can disclose many new dietary and therapeutic comments and solutions. The aim of this study is surveying different kinds of oxymels and their principle applications, recorded in PM references.
Material and Methods: This study is a review article. At first some important references in PM, including “Ferdos al Hekmah”, “Qanon fi Tib”,” Zakhireh Kharazmshahi”, “Majma al Javemeh” from “Aghili Khorasani” (“ Makhzan al Advieh”, “Kholaseh al Hekmah”, “Gharabadin Kabir”) and “Gharabadin Salehi” were searched. Chapters and documents about oxymels were studied and the notes were extracted.
Results: In our founding besides simple oxymels, different kinds of compound oxymils are presented by adding various kinds of materi medica to the base of honey and vinegar. They are recommended to use as health-keeping and different therapeutic goals. they are usually called by adding the name of added materia medica to oxymel.
Conclusion: Because of beneficial effects of oxymel, we suggest that more applicable researches should be done to introduce this safe drinking to the families.

Abstract
Background and Purpose: Perineal painfollowingepisiotomyis oneof the common problemsin thefirst daysafter the birthmotherhasmany negativeconsequencesontheirfirst experienceofmotherhood. So the study purpose was toevaluate the effect of honey cream on intensity of pain of episiotomy was performed in nulliparous women.
Materials and methods: This research was conducted with double- blind randomized clinical trial on 120 nulliparous womenIn three groups during 2013-2014 years inKashan. . After delivery and episiotomy, mothers used a knuckle of prescribed honey cream, phenytoin cream or placeboin their sutures zone, every night for 10 nights. Tools contained demographic and midwifery information questionnaire, the form of numerical rating scale of pain and forms of drug effects and consumption of pain reliever. Evaluation of pain intensity with numerical rating scale of pain, took place in the first 24 hours and on the seventh and fourteenth days after delivery. In order to analyze the data, one-way ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis and Chi-square tests were used.
Results: Three groups according todemographic and midwifery information questionnaire were notsignificantly different. Measuring pain intensity was considered as the base line values in 24 hours after delivery and the pain intensity did not show any meaningful difference in the three groups in the seventh and fourteenth days after delivery (P=0.8 , P=0.19).
Conclusions: Use honey cream and phenytoin cream does not decreased intensity of pain of episiotomy. Therefore is recommended further research to evaluate the effectiveness of thehoney cream and phenytoin cream for pain relief.

Abstract
Background and Purpose: Nowadays cancer is becoming a global health problem. Honey bee venom has been used for thousands of years in treating different diseases. Recently its uses as an anti-cancer compound attracted scientist’s attention. Determining the main components of bee venom which induce apoptosis can result in finding new anti-cancer compounds. Bee venom is a complex mixture of peptides, enzymes and biologically active amines like melittin and phospholipase A2.
Methods and Materials: This study was an experimental study. The cancer column cells (HT-29) and mice fibroblast cells (L929) were cultured in RPMI-1640 medium. Cells were treated with different concentrations of honey bee venom (0.1-12 µg/ml) in three times of 24, 48 and 72 hours. After this period the percent of living cells was determined through MTT assay. The analysis of data was done with SPSS software using One Way ANOVA method. Also, two cell lines were analyzed in the same concentrations of bee venom using the T-test. Results: in concentration 0.6 µg/ml and time 24 h the number of living cells reduced and in concentration 6 µg/ml all cells died. In concentration 2 µg/ml significant inhibitory effect on L929 was seen and in concentration 12 µg/ml and time 12 hours all cells died. Honey bee venom had an inhibitory effect on human colon cancer cells (HT-29) in vitro.
Conclusion: Honey bee venom cytotoxicity effect on human colon cancer cells (HT-29) was demonstrated. It seems that the induction of apoptosis in cancer cells treated with this compound is the cause of cell death which should be more investigated in the future.
