Abstract

According to Iranian Traditional Medicine, exercise is very important to health preservation and it has been explained a lot of profits for it and according to some philosophers' such as aviccena idea, to health preservation, it is prior to another things even nutrition. Getting the most profits from exercise, proportional sports to every body have been suggested. Actually, sports have been located in different groups and each group, includes specific effects on body. This studi,s aim is recognition of different groups of exercise and their effects on human body, in the shape of sport classification in Iranian Traditional Medicin, inorder to recommendation of appropriate and proportional activity to persons. Using the qualitative study approach of content analysis type, subjects that had been extracted from samples about Sport classification, which had been chosen based on the purposive method from Iranian Traditional Medicine books, were analysied.

Abstract

Early detection of pregnancy has a significant role in mother and baby’s health. The usual methods of pregnancy diagnosis in modern medicine are based on tests that usually could be done after a misperiod. In Iranian Traditional Medicine the importance of early diagnosis of pregnancy was known. In this study, we assessed authentic sources of Iranian Medicine books to find out how the pregnancy was diagnosed. Also we classified the common points and differences between them and the available methods.

Of the 7 main traditional books ends in 4 books Alaghraz-o-altbyh; Seyed Ismail Jarjani, Exir-e-Azam ; Hakim Azam Khan, Qanoon of medicine; Avicenna  and Kamel-o-sanae; Ahwazi all the issues related to pregnancy diagnosis was found and classified in 7 main groups:

1-Symptoms of pregnancy which could be sensed by the couples during the intercourse 2-symptoms of pregnancy that can be find out in the next intercourse 3- General signs of pregnancy 4- General symptoms of pregnancy 5-urinary symptoms of pregnancy 6-signs of pregnancy in vaginal examination done  by a physician or midwife 7-specific diagnostic tests

Based on these early pregnancy diagnosis during the intercourse by the couples and also early signs and symptoms of pregnancy could be used as new methods for early detection of pregnancy as well as some diagnostic tests which are unique. These methods could be used as a faster and less expensive method for diagnose of pregnancy.

Abstract

Background and Purpose:  Aromatherapy is one of the most commonly used treatments in traditional medicine and modern medicine. Essential oils are the basis of aromatherapy. Different research has been done in traditional medicine and modern medicine for aromatherapy. But since there was no comparative study in this regard, this article is presented.
Methods and Materials: The research method was descriptive and survey review. Different printed and electronic resources in Farsi and English related to aromatherapy in traditional medicine and modern medicine and their key words were searched.
Conclusion: The aromatherapy has long been considered in ancient texts and today it is widely used in the prevention and treatment of many physical and mental disorders. health-related individuals should be able to identify key elements related to the safety and efficacy of the aromatherapy. In this case, they will be able to provide counseling and training to patients.

Abstract

Background and Purpose: Ethnobotany is the study of use of native plants in a particular ethnic group, culture, or region. Due to the fact that the methods and uses of medicinal plants vary in different regions, the aim of present study was to introduce the culture of traditional use of medicinal plants to treat diseases in Baluchestan region.

Materials and Methods: Following identification of the plants of the region, the local name, medicinal properties, method of use and other information related to the species were collected simultaneously.

Results: In this study, 20 plant species belonging to 18 families were investigated. The most common use of medicinal species in this region were for gastrointestinal diseases (8 species, 29.6%), analgesia and treatment of contusions (6 species, 22.2%), and reduction of blood sugar and blood lipids (5 species, 18.5%), while the least belonged to eye diseases (1 species, 3.7%). Study of the type of consumption indicated that herbs were most commonly used as decoctions and poultices.

Conclusion: Due to the richness of medicinal plants in Baluchestan and the widespread use of indigenous plants for treatment of many diseases, it is possible to reach new insights in application of medicinal plants by further studies.

Abstract

The copy of the treatise "Risalah dar Dafʻi Vaba (Cholera)" by Abu'l Hassan Khan Bahrami (Tafreshi), son of Abdul-Wahab Khan Tafreshi, known as Doctor Mirza Abu'l Hassan Khan (Mu'tamid al-Sultan) (1845 to 1914 AD), one of the doctors of traditional and modern medicine in the Qajar period (1794 to 1925 AD). This is a unique manuscript in Persian language that remains in the library of manuscripts of the Islamic Parliament Library with the version number 1026. This research was carried out using an analytical-critical approach and employed a library-document methodology. After re-reading and correcting the manuscript of "Risalah dar Dafʻi Vaba (Cholera)" in order to achieve the goals of the research, the collected information was analysed. The content of the treatise is written in two chapters. First, this medical treatise focuses on the nature of cholera and orders to safeguard individuals from infection. In this research, we will initially examine in the introduction, a brief history of the outbreak of cholera in the Qajar period and the cause, which was discussed by Doctor Abu'l Hassan Khan Bahrami (Tafreshi). Finally, we will deal with the scientific and literary correction of the "Risalah dar Dafʻi Vaba (Cholera)" manuscript.
