Background and Purpose: Paralysis is a common cause of disability affecting all age groups. There is no definite method for treating these patients in conventional medicine.

Methods and Materials: In this study, treatment methods for paralysis based on both Iranian Traditional Medicine and the conventional medicine concepts are reviewed.

Results: Iranian traditional medicine represents a variety of treating methods for paralysis. Dr Abdollah Ahmadieh (1886-1959) has reported the use of these methods on his patients with paralysis that has resulted in recovery.

Conclusion: The success of paralysis treatment in these case reports is noteworthy since there is no certain method in the conventional medicine in this field. Considering the low sample size and lack of control group in these reports, it is necessary to design clinical trials and assess these techniques in conventional medicine.
